AhlulBayt News Agency: President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that unity and national cohesion are essential to counter what he described as enemies’ efforts to weaken and divide Iran.
Speaking during a meeting with academics and political, social, and cultural activists in Mazandaran Province as part of his two-day provincial visit, Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that the main objective of Iran’s adversaries is to create division within society and undermine the country’s stability.
He warned that discord and internal disputes would serve the enemies’ goals, while national unity would make Iran invincible. “If we stand together and pursue a common goal, no power will be able to defeat Iran,” he said.
The president described existing social and economic challenges, including inflation of 45 to 50 percent, as the result of accumulated problems over past years, compounded by longstanding sanctions. He said the enemies aim to intensify economic and political pressure in order to sow dissatisfaction and set people against one another.
Pezeshkian also said that foreign powers had long planned to dominate Iran but failed due to the resistance of the Iranian people. He emphasized the need to appreciate public support and demonstrate commitment to serving the nation.
The president concluded by urging Iranians to accept differences in views and tastes, saying diversity is natural and that peaceful coexistence requires tolerance and mutual understanding.
